Amber

Founder and Poetry Editor

Amber Stewart is the founder of Unbordered and a queer essayist and poet. She holds a BFA in Writing from Pratt Institute and an MA in English from Belmont University. Originally from Nashville, she relocated to Montevideo, Uruguay in 2024 where she lives with her wife and their dog. Her current writing project, In the Garden, reflects on finding home outside the U.S. She continues to document their story on TikTok.


Alice

Visual Arts Editor

Alice is the Visual Arts Editor for Unbordered, curating work from artists across the emigrant community. Based in Montevideo with her wife, dog, and cat, she brings care and vision to selecting pieces that bring each issue’s theme to life.


Parker

Political Commentary Editor

Parker Sterling is Unbordered’s Political Commentary Editor. She emigrated from the U.S. in 2022 and brings a sharp awareness of global politics and cultural shifts. With her deep reading and keen ability to spot voices that matter, she curates writers who can speak meaningfully to the challenges of our time.


Crys

Essay Editor

Crys Cain is a writer, immigrant, and solo parent who has been living in Costa Rica since 2014. A reformed software developer, they’ve been publishing queer fiction since 2017 under several pseudonyms. They delight in non-fiction that shamelessly borrows narrative tools from fiction, creating richly evocative and thought-provoking stories of real lives.


Rhi

Graphic & Web Designer

Rhilyn, who left the U.S. in 2025, serves as Unbordered’s Designer. Her work ensures immigrant voices are seen and valued, offering a visual language of solidarity, defiance, and hope.
